Volcanic Crater is the third and final hub location in Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy. It, as the name suggests, is in fact a massive volcanic crater located deep within the ground. It is here where the Red Sage lives. The crater has a gondola for traveling to the very top of the crater and three tracks of rickety mine carts, two of which lead to either Spider Cave or the Lava Tube.

The Precursor LegacyEdit
Volcanic Crater is the third hub area, which is reached using the A-Grav Zoomer through Mountain Pass (but like all hubs, can be via the Teleport Gate owned by the Red Sage once reached with the Zoomer). It is most notable for the Red Sage’s Hut, which is the only building. Once Jak arrived in the location, with Daxter, Keira Hagai and Samos Hagai, they saw the hut in a mess, and the Red Sage disappeared. Gol Acheron and Maia Acheron later revealed their plan; to build a Precursor Robot to break open the Dark Eco Silo and use the Dark Eco inside to take over the world. The location also has the last of the three known Oracles in the game. When Jak collected all the Power Cells, he could take the Lava Tube to reach Gol and Maia's Citadel.

Volcanic Crater is, typically, constructed out of a volcano. Using the Gondola, which was repaired by Kiera, one can travel to Snowy Mountain.
In one tunnel there’s an immense diamond and a pair of miners (Gordy and Willard). The diamond itself was presumably created by large pressure of lava flowing into the cave, eventually forming this beauty.
There’s a series of tracks (three) with a bunch of mine carts continuously rolling along it. Though no one ever uses them, or even lets them work. These are the safest way to reach Spider Cave or Lava Tube.
A bunch of odd lights can be found on the ground in the area. What they are and how they work is unknown. But they are hot and Jak will suffer damage if they are stepped on.
The Red SageEdit
The sage, master of Red Eco, has constructed his hut out of metallic plates in the middle of the crater. It has been ruined by Gol and Maia, though it’s still partly intact. A variety of large and small pipes lead out of the house and into the lava below, suggesting the sage is using it as a power source.
Precursor ArtifactsEdit
Besides a Trans Pad, Teleport gate and the last Oracle, the crater holds nothing worth mentioning of Precursor origin.
