[edit] Biography
At some point prior to Jak II Vin became an Underground informant as he worked as the foreman of the Strip Mine. He is rescued by Jak and Daxter when the Strip Mine comes under attack by Metal Heads. After his rescue, Vin takes up residence at the Power Station, and sends Jak and Daxter on various missions. When the Metal Heads invaded Haven City, the Power Station was overrun and Vin was killed. However, it is revealed in Jak 3 that he 'dumped his brain into the Eco Grid' prior to his death, making him a "multi-layered hyper linking digi-memoc-bio-construct-super-clocked-mega-memory construct". He helps Jak and Daxter retrieve the cipher for the KG War Factory. Vin mentions that he is happier inside the computer system, saying that "those monsters [Metal Heads] can't get [him] in here".
[edit] Personality
Vin's most distinctive characteristic is his extreme paranoia, particularly towards Metal Heads; he is constantly twitchy and in a near-constant state of panic. In both Jak II and Jak 3, he makes several remarks to the effect of "everyone is out to get [him]". However, he loses this paranoia when it comes to his work, and dislikes his expertise being questioned. Jak takes advantage of this in the second game, goading Vin into helping him restore power to an old elevator in one of the Palace's support towers by implying that he wasn't capable of it.
[edit] Skills
Vin is extremely skilled with tasks related to power or computers.
