The Shard is one of the three Precursor artifacts needed to reveal the Tomb of Mar in Jak II.

Design

The Shard is a small shiny blue crystal with a metal band around it. It hovers slightly above the ground and vibrates heavily.
RoleEdit
Jak had to use the Shard in No Man's Canyon (along with the other two, Lens and Gear), where he had to insert it into the Light Tower. Upon inserting the Shard into a small holder it moved inside the machine. Then four lasers were fired at it, which resulted in a slightly bigger laser being fired at the Lens on top of the tower and finally in the destruction Praxis' Statue revealing Mar's Tomb.
LocationEdit
The Shard itself is located in the Mountain Temple, where they were sent to retrieve it for Samos and Onin. It was stuck in the grip of an Oracle, but Daxter pulled it out.
Blue Eco?Edit
It's possible that the Shard is actually a Blue Eco Crystal, as it has the same color. But also, Blue Eco represents the energy of motion and as the Shard heavily vibrates, they can have a connection of some sorts. However, how a Blue Eco beam would be able to destroy an entire statue (even magnified by the Lens) is a counterpoint to this.
