Sewer Raceway is a race track in the sport Combat Racing in Jak X: Combat Racing.
Overview
Edit
The track starts out violently as you're thrown towards three long posts that will take your vehicle out if you happen to collide with them head-on. After that, you'll go through a series of tunnels to the right that bend and curve at an annoying pace. Try not to boost in here, as it may result in your demise. These tunnels lead to yet another open area with another large post to take you out. There's a strategically-placed Time Freezer worthy of more than a couple of seconds on the left side of said post. During the next tunnel, you'll be pelted with even more of those damn posts to knock you out of your loop. Even more of the posts await you once you leap off of the ledge to the ground, and go through the left tunnel in an exact opposite replica of the starting point. Watch out for the two sector dividers in the same amount of halls, and hit the speeder. Don't stay in the middle of it too long; as once you land you'll be hitting another post, dead in the middle. Yet the toughest part of this track-—especially if you're in a hurry-—is the end, where you must make a fast left turn in order to hit the checkpoint.
Due to the tight nature of almost all the turns (the major Esses have less than five feet of wall separating each side), along with the tendency of certain turns to dump racecars head-on toward walls, power sliding is a must to avoid falling behind the leaders. Memorization is the best way to cope with the pipes in the middle of the track, although each side has red and yellow signs on it. "Dumb Weapons", especially the machine guns, tend to be much less effective due to the very small amount of straightaway racing on this track. "Smart Weapons" like missiles and the Peace Maker are far better, and it is recommended that you dump any machine gun rounds immediately upon getting them, rather than wait for an opportunity to use them that may never come. Dark Saucer Drones and Dark Missile Towers are also excellent weapons to use, as they will kill any slower moving vehicles due to their built in trackers. Ten lap Exhibition Mode races tend not to get too strung out, although with the way the track is laid out, line of sight is often difficult to achieve when the leader is more than a couple seconds ahead. The obvious solution to that, of course, is a Peace Maker.
