Characteristics
Sand worms closely resemble very large snakes, or the head of a dragon. Looming out of the sand as Jak ventures close, they have a deep blue skin color with yellow floral patterns on their back, and a dragon-like head. Typical to all lurkers have yellow eyes, overgrowing appendages along their jawline, and a metal collar.
Combat
Venturing nearby will provoke the worm, causing it to shoot upwards out of the sand, with its eyes fixed on Jak, poised for attack. When one has appeared, a quiet roar will sound, similar to the lurker shark's, and a loud thump as the sand above it is hoisted aside.
Their range is not very great, as they cannot reach further than the edge of its own pit and neither are they very fast. The easiest way to kill them is from above; as they are stationary, slow, and unable to hit upwards, making them an easy target.
