A Sage, found in Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy and mentioned in other games, is a master of a particular type of Eco. Over time, it seems that prolonged exposure to Eco changed the color of their skin; each Sage's skin is tinted with the color of the type of Eco that he studies. There is no known Sage of Light Eco. To gain the Sage status you must be able to channel the Eco, like Keira did in Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier.
- Samos, the master of Green Eco
- The Blue Sage, the master of Blue Eco
- The Red Sage, the master of Red Eco
- The Yellow Sage, the master of Yellow Eco
- Gol Acheron, the master of Dark Eco.
- Tym, a former sage of Dark Eco.
Gol's sister, Maia, may also be considered a Sage, since she appears to share in her brother's expertise of Dark Eco. However, she is never given this title during the game.
It should be noted in The Lost Frontier near the end that the Sage of Dark Eco was in fact Tym, the marooned old man with amnesia Jak and Daxter meet early on in the game who accompanies them. Since there is a dark eco sage (Tym) in TLF there might be sages of blue, red, yellow eco around somewhere. Fighting metalheads or protecting a city, town, or some village, somewhere on the planet.
Throughout the series there have been numerous comments about Keira's chances as an eco sage. As she is on a quest to become an eco sage in The Lost Frontier, it is obvious that she has the capability to become one. Despite this, in TLF, the world is running out of eco, and it seems it would be hard to control an eco in at the time, even though the eco shortage problem was solved. It still remains unknown if Keira will one day become a sage, but future games or info could reveal this.
