Red Eco increases the user's strength, making it possible to slay more poweful enemies in a single blow. Jak's jump-dive attack is also enhanced while he is using Red Eco - a small shockwave of Red Eco will destroy any enemy within range. However, there is a slight drawback in the fact that use of Red Eco makes the user slightly slower. On Misty Island, clusters of Red Eco can be found in boxes, or by destroying certain enemies during the Lurker ambush; it can also be found in vents on Snowy Mountain. Red Eco clusters are thick, and resembles fire when coming from vents.
Red Eco in its pure form is not found in Jak II or Jak 3; however, the limited range, slow firing rate and wide blast range of the Scatter Gun suggests that it may be derived from Red Eco.
In Jak X, Red Eco provides defensive weapons.

[edit] The Precursor Legacy
[edit] Uses
In The Precursor Legacy, Red Eco has two main uses: to increase Jak's damage and to break metal chests. It also grants Jak immunity to Dark Eco Crates when destroying them.

Red Eco is found in several locations in The Precursor Legacy, including Misty Island, Snowy Mountain, Boggy Swamp and the Citadel. Though it most often appears dropped by Lurkers it also appears from vents.
[edit] Jak X

In Jak X, Red Eco provides defences, rear weapons and neutral abilities .
[edit] Locations
Red Eco is found on almost every track or venue. It appears as a capsual with a metal band around the middle surrounded by a red glow.
[edit] Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier
Red Eco is used to upgrade Jak's sub-eco abilities. You must select RED then click on the ability you want. It can also be used as a bomb with a radius that hurts anyone caught in it.
[edit] Other Uses
- Though it has not been explicitly stated, it is highly likely that the high power, close range of the Scatter Mod in Jak II, Jak 3 and Jak and Daxter TLF derives from Red Eco.
