Precursor robot is a term used for all the large humanoid robots made of precursor metal seen throughout the Jak and Daxter series. Despite their humanoid build they have anteater noses and big bug-like eyes. They are rather rare as so far only three complete models have been seen in the series. It's unknown whether the other stone carvings we see embedded in the rocks at some places are actually robots encased in stone or just statues. Their exact function is unknown, though they are apparently the only things capable of opening the Dark Eco Silos.

Jak and Daxter: The Precursor LegacyEdit

The very first sign of a precursor robot is found at Boggy Swamp, where you can find a lurker dirigible trying to pull an arm out of the swamp. However, Jak thwarted their plans in the mission 'Break the Tethers on the Zeppelin'. Later in Spider Cave you find an intact robot embedded in the stone by the legs. You can climb to the top by using the excavation structure the lurkers have built.

Another, subtle location of a Precursor Robot is found at Geyser Rock, though only the head is visable, the rest either destroyed or encased in rock.

Finally you encounter the makeshift robot built by Gol and Maia Acheron at the Dark Eco Silo, though you can see it in inactive state in Gol and Maia's Citadel beforehand. This one was built out of spare parts and scrap metal made by lurkers. Jak destroyed it using Light Eco when they attempted to break open the silo.

Jak 3Edit

Jak fights a precursor robot summoned by Count Veger that was hidden inside a statue at the Eco Mine. It fired red lasers, used a lightsaber, fired missiles and summoned splitters to attack Jak. It was surprisingly durable, withstanding a Bomb Train two times before being destroyed by the third.

In the same area, two more precursor robot statues are seen on the left and right of the one Veger summons. It is unknown weather or not these are real, or just statues.

Jak X: Combat RacingEdit

A precursor robot was found in the Mountaintop Highway. While driving through one of the caves you can spot a robot encased in ice above. The precursor robot boss from the previous game makes a brief cameo in the cinematic "Odds Are Bad".

DaxterEdit

A Precursor Robot representing Balrog from The Lord Of The Rings appeared in one of Daxter's dreams.
