Poisonous Eels swimming in the rivers of the Forbidden Jungle spare no one's big catch. They swim through the rivers along with the fish and if caught, spoil the whole thing. In TPL, Ollie asks Jak and Daxter to catch him 200 pounds of good fish, but catching even one eel costs the whole catch.
They are most likely subspecies of wild lurkers and feed upon the fish in the rivers. They have no threat to humans but generally irritate the fisherman.
