Oracle

From Jak and Daxter Wiki

Oracles are a recurring Precursor relic found in Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, Jak II and Jak 3.

[edit] Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy

Three Oracles can be found in Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy - one in Sandover Village, one in Rock Village, and one in the Volcanic Crater. All three have two Power Cells for eyes, which they will give to Jak in exchange for 120 Precursor Orbs. When first approached, the Oracles make cryptic pronouncements regarding 'the true hero' and 'the dark light'.

[edit] Jak II

Oracle in Jak II
Only one Oracle can be found in Jak II - however, its placement in the Water Slums and its lack of Power Cell eyes suggests that it may be one of the Oracles found in The Precursor Legacy. It no longer asks for Precursor Orbs; instead it demands Metal Head Skull Gems in return for teaching Jak to control his new Dark Powers. Like its predecessors, it makes cryptic comments when Jak provides it with the requested payment. It seems to be glowing in the eyes and in the trunk, unlike in Jak and Daxter TPL. It is possible that this is a Dark Eco Oracle, because he state that the Metal-Heads are theor enemies, and he is able to give Jak new dark powers, while the known Light Eco Oracles give Jak light powers.

[edit] Jak 3

The massive triple Oracle found in the Monk Temple in Jak 3 more closely resembles a Precursor Robot than the Oracles found in the previous games. This Oracle grants Jak new Light Powers at certain points during the game in order to balance out his Dark Powers - unlike its predecessors, it does not demand any kind of payment.

Oracle Totem
Smaller versions of the larger Oracle, called Oracle Totems, can also be found in the Wasteland, Spargus and Haven City. When Jak gives these statues a specific number of Metal Head Skull Gems, the totem will give him a specific challenge. When Jak is able to successfully complete this challenge, the Oracle Totem will grant him a number of Precursor Orbs as a reward.
