History
Edit
Pre-Jak II
Edit
Kor was first seen in the opening moments of Jak II as the Metal Head Leader. When Jak, Daxter, Keira, and Samos opened the rift gate, the top half of Metal Kor appeared and yelled that Jak could not hide from him. He then unleashed the Metal Head armies upon Sandover village, beginning a war that would be waged for centuries. Where he first came from is unknown. It is suggested that the Metal Heads came through from another dimension. However, when Jak, Daxter, Keira, and Samos go into the rift gate at the same time as the Metal Heads break out, they land in Haven City, suggesting that this is the place from which the Metal Heads originated. It is possible that the Metal Heads travelled into the past through the Rift Gate and began the war that they where currently fighting, creating a time loop, or it could be that the rift gate can join to more than two locations at once, and the four were not sent to the same place that the Metal Heads came through from. There is nothing to say that Kor ever went to Sandover Village; if the first theory is true, he could have just put his head through to see the beginning of the war, before retreating back to Haven City (which would be plausible as of the Rift Rider Paradox). If the second theory is correct, however, he must have gone there.
Daxter
Edit
He appears momentarily in Daxter as Metal Kor takes his form upon realizing that making contact with Jak in a trustworthy appearance may help his plans. This could not, however, be the first time he donned this disguise, as Daxter takes place days before Jak 2, and Kor have been using the old man disguise for a while for gain the trust of the Underground and care of Young Jak. It is possible that he used some sort of hypnotism or trickery to fool Samos into giving him care of the kid, but unlikely as Samos should have been able to repel such an act, being a sage. However, Samos was not "sagely" until well into Jak 2, so he may have been less immune to such power at this point. It is still unlikely, as Kor displays no obvious proof of such a power during his appearances. As Kor seems able to jump between his disguise and his true form at will so long as he is outside the city's Eco shield, it is more likely that he simply worked undercover in the city for a long time before the events of Jak II.
Jak II
Edit
Kor is one of the first people Jak and Daxter meet in Haven City, and the first person besides Daxter to hear Jak speak. The two meet Kor, along with Young Jak, soon after escaping the Fortress, and protect the two when Krimzon Guard attack for no reason. Kor then advises that the two join Torn and Samos at the Underground. Kor appears at several points throughout the game, and it is revealed that he is determined to find the Precursor Stone, supposedly to help bring down Baron Praxis. Although he shows a burning desire to destroy Praxis, he is not so keen when it comes to the Metal Heads, and worries when he hears that Jak and Daxter saw a hologram of the Metal Head Leader. When the plan to retrieve the Stone fails, Kor is supposedly captured along with Samos, the Kid, and Tess, although is not found in the Fortress when Jak and Daxter assault it, and suspiciously escapes on his own. The Kid is now missing, and it is presumed that the Baron has him. However, Kor somehow took the Kid from the Baron and imprisoned him in the Metal Head Nest, hoping to use him to open the Precursor Stone when he stole that from the Baron (the older Jak could not open the stone now that he had been touched by Dark Eco, but the still-pure Young Jak could). Having convinced Krew to betray the city, Kor had him open a door to the wasteland in the Underport, which allowed a small advance guard of Metal Heads to break in and destroy the Eco shield, and a full scale Metal Head invasion began. Kor revealed his true form to Jak, Daxter, and Baron Praxis, before eliminating the Baron and proceeding to destroy the city in search of the Precursor Stone. The Baron's last act was to give Jak and Daxter the Stone, which he had hidden, and used to power up an old weapon created by Mar. Jak and Daxter assaulted the Metal Head nest, rescued the Kid, and ultimately killed Metal Kor.
Biography
Edit
Personality
Edit
Kor seems to act intelligently, with dignity and without the insulting nature of Samos Hagai. However at points his real personality is displayed, displaying a fondness for violence and Metal Heads, and a desire to posses the Precursor Stone.
Appearance
Edit
Kor appears as a wizened old man, hunched and walking with a stick. He wears a blue robe, as well as a head cap that covers where the Skull Gem should be, if he were in his Metal Head form, but it is also possible that he is hiding it.
Abilities
Edit
Within Haven City his abilities are very limited due to the Shield Wall. It is unknown what he is capable of, but his powers as Metal Kor are much greater.
Equipment
Edit
He always carries a wooden cane, but most likely does not use it for any fighting but just as a support.
Trivia
