From Jak and Daxter Wiki

How come you can't start a new article when you click new article. I clicked on it to start a new page and it said it doesn't recognise the page. Come on, you could start a new page before without this coming up, fix it!!!!! now, Theres still alot of information thats not been put into this wiki.

first i'm appalled at all all the vandilism on this site. this wiki is about Jak and Daxter not a chat site for peoples useless crap talk and frankly i'm getting quiet sick of it. please for the love of the precursors, don't vandilise on this site or else...!

You may be interested to know there is a Wikia gaming IRC channel, #wikia-gaming on chat.freenode.net, where you can hop on, ask for help from users of other gaming wikis, or offer your own experiences. If you are not familiar with IRC clients, you can access it from http://irc.wikia.com/gaming.

Different people may be on sporadically, but we organize weekly chats at a fixed time so we can get the most number of people online at the same time to ask and answer questions, or just to hang out. The admins of some of Wikia's biggest gaming wikis (e.g. WoW, Halo) often attend them. You can find the time for the next chat by following this link.

[edit] Lost Frontier News Confirmation

I and some others have been keeping an eye on NDI like crazy for announcement of TLF, and so far they have NOT officially announced it... where did this 'news' come from? SOURCE PLZ. (Mind you it will make my year if this is true... I just am not certain that it is anything more than speculation/wishful thinking.)

[edit] Major improvement needed

I don't mean to get to ranty or insult anyone, but this wiki sux! Wikipedia has more j&d info than this. I just read the page on Ashelin, and it's disgusting. And what's with all the pages on ratchet & clank, these are different games, someone please clean this up.

I don't think wikipedia which has only a few pages of info and does not even have a character page for Jak or Daxter is superior to this wiki. Either help improve the wiki or leave.

Does anyone else think I should start a user of the month, whereby the user I feel has done the most to help the wiki this month has their username and how I fell they have helped posted on the Mainpage. [edit] Problem box templates

I do not know the proper name for the templates that ask for certain requirments met on a single page, but I know Kingdom Hearts wikia, wookipedia, and several other pedias have them and this site is in serious need of help.

===We need templates to put on pages that cover the following problems===

Orphaned pages. Pages that aren't linked to in many or any pages are more numerous on here than most may know.

Dead-end pages. Pages with no links to other articles.

Skeptics based on theory for future releases. Like, this page is based mostly on theory for a future release of a game.

Short-pages. There are too many. User:Kcdude500, myself, and other members are trying to lengthen these pages.

Vandilism. For articles attacked by Vandilism. Jakraziel usually fixes these probelms quickly, but sometimes Vanadilisers attack a page to a degree where a serious amount of help is needed to re-write it all back.

In need of more pictures. For those pages that need more pictures.

Articles that are written in present-tense. All articles should either be written in either past or future-tense; rarely does this rule change. I haven't really seen this problem anywhere, but better safe than sorry.

These templates need:

  1. A picture. On the left and small enough so that the template won't take up a large space.
  2. A motto. A small motto that pertains to the problem, and fits in with the game; Quotes, generally.
  3. A color for the box. A color that sharply contrasts from the color of text.
  4. A color for text. A color that sharply contrasts from the color of the inside of the box.
  5. An explanation of the problem. A motto alone will not explain the problem. Explain the problem breifly and what is needed on the page.

    • Picture: the Kid. Or younger Jak or Mar.
    • motto: "You are the son of the great Warrior, Damas; And he never knew...How wonderful."
    • Color for the box: teal
    • color for the text: Burgandy.
    • Explanation: This page is rarely if not never directed to from other articles that could help better circulate the page. Please help Jak and Daxter wikia(Could we work on a title like wookieepedia, as said earlier?) by helping out.
  • Dead-end article:
    • picture: Damas
    • motto: His dying words about his son Mar.
    • color for box: sandish color.
    • color for text: Dark Orange.
    • Explanation: This article contains words, locations, items, technologies, or people that are articles on the site. Please help Jak and Daxter wikia by helping out.

    • motto: "If you knew we were a bunch of fuzzy little rats, would you worship us?"
    • color for box: Slate Grey.
    • color for text: Orange.
    • Explanation: This article is formed majorly upon theory of a game that has not yet been released. WARNING: Please, only put logical theories in either the theory heading, or in the article's Discussion.
  • Short pages:
    • picture: Daxter
    • motto: I hate being short!
    • color for box: brown
    • color for text: red
    • Explanation: This article is in need a help in building information! Please help Jak and Daxter wikie by extending it.
  • Vandalism:
    • picture: Jinx
    • motto: "Ain't the smell of sulfur grand?"
    • color for box: light green
    • color for text: Dark Orchid
    • Explanation: This page has been blown to pieces by Vandalism! Please help Jak and Daxter wikia by repairing what has been lost.
  • In need of more pictures.
    • picture: Gt blitz
    • motto: (the one about more colour)
    • color for box: silver.
    • color for text: black.
    • Explanation: This article is in need of more pictures. Please help Jak and Daxter wikia by finding pictures for this topic.
  • Written in present-tense.
    • picture: Pecker
    • motto: What you did, what you'll do, it is all the same.
    • color of box: red
    • color of text: yellow. Usually not a good bet, but a good contrast and easily readable with a red-background.
    • Explanation: This page has been written in present-tense. The wikia standard calls for that all articles be written in past - and future-tense. Please help Jak and Daxter wikia by repairing the article.

Yeah plus here's two other things: 1. The links don't work right 2. Shouldn't we be friends with the [jakhumor.wikia.com|Daxterpedia] (Jak and Daxter humor wiki)? lol makes sense and ratchet and C; Clank wiki is friends with Blargipedia (the Ratchet and Clank humor wiki)

Because this wiki is too slow betwwen games to bother with such things. If things pick up when TLF comes out we will resume changing it allong with new tasks of the week and so on. Jakraziel 18:25, October 5, 2009 (UTC)
