The Great House of Mar was the ruling clan of Haven City made up off descendant's from the city's founder, the legendary Mar himself. Mar's descendant's ruled Haven City as kings, but the long line was broken in 299AJD, when Damas was banished to the Wasteland by Baron Praxis. Damas's son, Mar was kidnapped by Count Veger. Damas, however, continued to rule as a monarch in the wasteland, as the King of Spargus City, a refuge for other outcasts from Haven City.

-Mar: The founder of Haven City and creator of its shield wall and first eco mines as well as a massive Precursor Stone-powered gun to blast open the Metal Head Nest outside the city. He died before he could use it and was buried at a huge mausoleum near Haven Palace known as Mar's Tomb, where all his related successors (except Damas) are also buried, along with the Precursor Stone to protect it from Metal Kor.

-Damas: The last member of the House of Mar to rule Haven City. He was banished to the Wasteland by his comrade Baron Praxis, where he founded Spargus City and ruled it as King. His son Mar (alias Jak) was kidnapped by Count Veger. He was later united with the older version of his son, although unaware of his true identity. He was killed in the ruins of Haven City by Veger's catapult, before Jak realized they were family. He was replaced in Spargus by Sig.

-Jak: The only son of Damas, he was kidnapped in his early life by Count Veger, who soon lost him to the Underground, where Kor was working undercover. After Metal Kor's defeat by his older self he was sent to the past to Sandover Village through the Rift Gate with Young Samos, where they lived for thirteen years and befriended Daxter. He later discovered the same Rift Gate and went back to the future while the Metal Head Wars began in the past.
