The Hideout is the main base of operations for the Underground in Jak II. Hidden behind a moving wall, it is here the Underground stages their plans.

HistoryEdit

Jak IIEdit

The Hideout is one of the first locations visited in Jak II, after Kor directed Jak and Daxter to join the Underground in escape from Baron Praxis and in planning to get revenge on him. Throughout the game, Jak visited the location to receive missions from Torn. The Hideout was under attack from Blast Bots in the mission Protect Hideout from Bombots.

Jak 3Edit

The location of the Hideout in Jak 3 is cut off by more buildings. The Freedom HQ was the new "hideout" so the original Underground Hideout was abandoned to make Freedom HQ a base now.

GeographyEdit

OverviewEdit

The Hideout's location is a secret to the Krimzon Guard that patrol there, yet it is clearly marked in the Slums with the Underground's symbol. Perhaps the KG's patrols are too limited or they truly do not care about this section of town.

InteriorEdit

Inside the sliding door are a small flight of stairs taking the player directly into a small alcove consisting of four bunk beds (most likely for the Underground's members). Just beyond that is the crowded den area. Upon the central table is where the Underground plans their missions (with maps of the city). Around the walls of this area are boxes, a furnace, a burning barrel, posters of Baron Praxis (words translate into: OBEY) and Erol (words translate into EROL), and a Zoomer.

TriviaEdit

  • It is unknown what happened to the Hideout in Jak 3, as it seems to have disappeared. Probably Naughty Dog forgot to re-add it again since the Naughty Ottsel was used as a HQ.
  • If you look closely, there are posters of Praxis and Errol with a red X on each face.
  • According to the mini-map, the Hideout is inside of one of the out-jutting blocks in Haven City's wall. whether this is coincidence or purposeful, it indicates the Wall does not reach underground, hence once the Shield Wall (possibly a special Eco shield that repels Metal Heads, and not the wall itself) failed, the Metal Heads simply burrowed under them.
