Haven City is a combat racing track used in the Kras City Grand Championship during Jak X: Combat Racing. It is one of the longer tracks in the championship, spanning only a single lap for the circuit race, and one of the rarest tracks as well, only appearing once in Adventure Mode. It takes you through the Port, a more modern and expanded version of the New Haven district, the Slums, and the Industrial Section where it afterward returns to the Port.

The reconfigured streets of Haven City are perhaps most known for their tight corners and dangerous turns, and combined with the all-too common ramps and stairs will make a bad idea out of continuously boosting. A car with excellent handling and drifting capabilities will fare better, however, as well as knowledge of the layout beforehand.

Description[]

Haven City (race track) render 1

Part of the inner city.

The track will start at the Port and make a few sharp turns. Then it will enter New Haven, immediately opening up with a curving zigzag, sloped upward. [a] Avoid boosting unnecessarily lest you crash into the walls. Stay clear of the right side as several support pillars will jut out. Eventually you will stop driving upwards and enter a downward slope then turn left, entering a tunnel. Note the turn can be tough to make. After this, the course will head straight uphill. [b] Then it will make a wide easy curve down to the right.

The next district, the Slums, is at first fairly easy, with wide corners allowing for some turbo boosting opportunities. [c] Do, however, slow down when driving onto an upward slope, as the road will immediately cut to the right toward the top, causing anyone driving at full speed to crash into the fence on the other side. Observing the sightly Mar Memorial Stadium to your left, the following stretch is relatively clear, as is the next after you turn right.

Part of the inner city.

Up ahead is the Industrial Section, which starts off with a slanted path after exiting a tunnel with red lights. [d] While you should take care to lighten up on the boost when driving into ramps and staircases, the Industrial section otherwise lends itself pretty well to some boosting on the more open road and corners. Take note of one tricky spot where you enter a large and wide open square, as the remainder of the track is tucked away in a corner to your right, not in front as one may first think.

Nearly back to the Port, the track throws you into a short hairpin turn, aiming for you to turn right and make a turn around a pillar. Avoid this and instead take the tiny shortcut to the left of the pillar, cutting through the bushes. Two more corners and you will you will be back at the finish line, completing one lap.

Notes[]

  1. The City Outskirts track is visible on the left but blocked with a barrier.
  2. The same as a is true here too.
  3. At one point, the Waterworks Circuit track is visible on the right but blocked with a barrier.
  4. Soon after this area, the same as c is true here too.
