- "Ya think, Willard? Howdy, strangers! Passin' through? Us too! Well, we gotta be movin' on! Nothin' to see here!"
- ―Gordy
Gordy is one of the two miners in the Volcanic Crater. He works with Willard mining a gigantic diamond that, according to him, would take twelve years (with one worker, as he never does anything) to get out. Gordy has a short temper because he has to work with Willard. Jak and Daxter come to them one day and ask if they have any Power Cells.
Gordy tells them that they found four while digging and that they would have to pay them 90 Precursor Orbs for each Power Cell. Eventually Gordy gets four sets of ninety orbs and Jak and Daxter get the Power Cells. It is never told whether Gordy and Willard ever finished their work, however, according to the Jak 3 Guide, they actually did.
[edit] Trivia
- Gordy and Willard finally struck it rich when, in a fit of frustration, they used seven tons of Eco-mite to blow open the remainder of the huge jewel tunnel at the Volcanic Crater. After the dust cleared, Gordy made Willard pick up the multitude of small shards and, after gluing the jewel back together, they sold the 'slightly occulted' stone for considerable coin. With this newfound wealth, G&W Holdings became the biggest investment bank in the world as Gordy and Willard went on a corporate buying spree. Nothing lasts forever, however, as Willard's canary later sued for emotional distress and bird endangerment. Having the famous Bird Lady as an expert witness sealed Gordy and Willard's fate, and the little bird won a huge settlement. Gordy and Willard spend the rest of their years searching for new treasure, hoping to find the famed Gordian Rock, a cubic zirconia- or false diamond- said to have been bigger than a mountain. Of course, having learned their lesson, Gordy and Willard made their new canary sign a release form.
