From Jak and Daxter Wiki
The second place Jak uses the A-Grav Zoomer. Equipped with Keira's Heat Shield Jak and Daxter traverse the dangerous and and immensely hot canyon towards Rock Village.
Use the Cooling Balloons, Blue Eco and Precursor objects to avoid the heat and various stalagmites.
The Fire Canyon was entirely removed in the New World.

A very long canyon, lava and magma comes from an unknown source and stalagmites occasionally pop up. The heat is immense and very dangerous.
[edit] Precursor Artifacts
Besides a few Precursor objects (typical flat platforms) that only serve as a way to get the A-Grav Zoomer off the ground and some Blue Eco Vents, there is nothing else of importance.
The Precursor platforms here render one of Samos the Sage's early lines in the Precursor Legacy as incorrect: "It's volcanic soil is hot enough to melt Precursor metal." Why are they not melted then?
