Get the power cell from the pelican was a mission in The Precursor Legacy that Jak and Daxter completed to obtain a power cell. When Jak and Daxter spotted a power cell, a pelican scooped it up and Jak had to take it back.
Completion of this mission in the PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, and PlayStation 4 versions of The Precursor Legacy will unlock the bronze trophy Gimmee That!.
Walkthrough[]
There is a lone power cell on the beach which, when approached, will be gobbled up by a pelican. Its nest is on a small island in the middle of the bay; you can swim over to it, although it is advised to use blue eco from the nearby vent so you will be faster for the following part. It is also possible to use the nearby Precursor launcher to cross the water more easily. Note that the blue eco vent switch from the mission "Find the blue vent switch", needs to be activated for this to be possible.
Hit the pelican and it swill spit out the power cell onto the distant upper bank. Quickly jump into the water and make your way to a wooden wheel ahead of you; try to get a grip of one of the platforms as soon as possible. Once you have reached the upper bank, roll-jump hastily around the windmill and collect the power cell before the pelican beats you to it. Being too slow will thus result in the pelican re-acquiring the cell and a trip back to the island for another try.
Alternatively, it is possible to utilize an easier method to acquire the power cell if one has already activated the vent switch at Forbidden Jungle. Instead of using the unlocked blue eco vent and launch yourself towards it, launch yourself onto the cannon tower instead, something also required for the mission "Launch up to the cannon tower". Once there, gain control of the cannon that is being operated by a pair of babaks and use to blow up the pelican with a well-placed bomb. The power cell remains safely behind in the nest, waiting to be taken.
