An Eco crystal is a crystallized form of Eco. Theoretically any form of Eco should be able to crystallize, though only Dark, Light and Green Eco have been found this form. As is common with Eco they usually exhibit strange properties, such as exploding on touch, converting one type of Eco into another or just functioning as a power source.
Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy
Edit
The first form of crystallized Eco is encountered in Spider Cave in Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, where Jak after being urged by Samos Hagai destroyed several of them in the mission Destroy the Dark Eco Crystals for a Power Cell. These crystals where recognizable for their huge size, easily towering over a human. Most notable however was the fact they explode on touch, spraying (and therefore killing) anyone nearby with Dark Eco. They don't appear to have a specific requirement in their location where they grow, as two are found underwater.
Jak 3
Edit
| Crystal type | Location |
|---|---|
| Dark Eco | A Dark Satellite in Spargus |
| Collected from a Metal-Saur in the wasteland | |
| A Dark Satellite in the wasteland | |
| Dropped by Cyber Errol at the top of the Metal Head Tower | |
| Light Eco | Won from Seem in Spargus |
| Won from Kleiver in Spargus | |
| Found at the Metal Head Cave | |
| Found at the KG War Factory |
Jak encounters the crystals again in Jak 3, where he acquires eight of them in total and eventually uses all of them to power the Eco Power Sphere which in turn acts as the fuel source for the Planetary Defence System at the Precursor Core. These crystals are much smaller, averagely the size of a fist. According to Seem they are worth quite a lot.
Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier
Edit
A Green Eco crystal is found on the Brink Island in Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier by Jak. Keira Hagai explains that it's acting like an Eco Prism, converting other types of Eco into Green Eco. She later uses it to power the Hellcat, it wasn't seen afterwards.
There's several small formations of Dark Eco crystals in the sewers in Aeropa as well as inside the ACS Behemoth.
