The Dark Eco Silo is a minor location in Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy. Site of the final battle between Jak and Gol and Maia Acheron and their Precursor robot. It is more or less located right next to or on top of their citadel. It sports a fantastic view over previously visited locations.

The Precursor Legacy
Edit
As the name suggests, it is one of the monolithic Precursor silos containing vast amounts of Dark Eco. This area is where Jak and Daxter fights Gol Acheron and Maia Acheron in their Precursor Robot, which Jak uses Light Eco to destroy. It is the final location in the game (involving gameplay) and is reached from the roof of Gol and Maia's Citadel.
Here, Gol and Maia attempt to open the Silo to flood the planet with Dark Eco. Their plans, however, fail due to Jak and Daxter, who fight Gol and Maia's Precursor Robot, and when the four Sages combine each of their Ecos, Light Eco is created. Jak uses this Light Eco to destroy the Precursor Robot, leaving Gol and Maia trapped in the Silo, why Samos Hagai said "probably destroyed them... probably."
Post-Precursor Legacy
Edit
It's unknown what became of this location after the Metal Head Wars.

Overview
Edit
This Silo can only be reached after freeing the Sages as they are the ones who open the elevator door. Once you have reached the top, you must power up with Blue Eco from the nearby crate before jumping on the Eco Platform to reach the Silo. This, paired with the roof of the Citadel, is the most important location of the entire of TPL. In this area, Jak saves the world and reveals the Rift Gate, the cause of the dramatic change of scenery and plot in Jak II (and Daxter).
View
Edit
Almost the entire rest of the world is visible from the top of both the Citadel roof and the Dark Eco Silo. In addition, the Silo and the Citadel roof are by far the highest structures for hundreds of miles around, towering above even Snowy Mountain, which appears almost like a large crystal on the ground below. It is clearly an overlooked fault of Naughty Dog therefore, that the neither the Citadel, nor the Silo, are visible from any other location other than Snowy Mountain, from where it appears incredibly tiny still, and far, far off in the distance.
Notes
Edit
- As this is not a complete level by itself, this area does not have any Power Cells or the standard seven Scout Flies or even any Precursor Orbs. You can obtain all 2000 Orbs, 112 Scout Flies and 101 Power Cells before reaching this area. Don't forget the ones around the wooden platform at the base of the lift.
- The game music for the this area is the same as on the top of the Citadel and is not found anywhere else. It will be the same whether you are visiting this area for the fight or just for looking around later. It will stop however if you open the door. While it is similar to the Credits track, it is definitely not the same.
