Blue Eco
From Jak and Daxter Wiki
Blue Eco is one of the six kinds of Eco used by the Precursors to create new worlds. According to Samos, it contains "the energy of motion", and it appears in Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy and Jak X. It resembles electricity.
In the The Old World it was used mainly as a power source for activating Precursor technology. It does not appear in the The New World in its pure form until Jak X. Though the speed and color of the Vulcan Fury or the cylinders in Jak X suggests it still exists and is mainly gathered for the use of shooting or racing.

[edit] The Precursor Legacy
[edit] Uses
In The Precursor Legacy, Blue Eco has three main uses: to increase Jak's speed (either on foot or on an A-Grav Zoomer), to break chests, and to activate certain Precursor artifacts.
In the earliest example of Eco being used as a power source, Sandover Village is powered by a Blue Eco beam redirected from the Forbidden Temple. It was also used to power the Machine in Forbidden Jungle.
The Blue Sage is the master of Blue Eco.
[edit] Activating Precursor Artifacts
Certain kinds of Precursor artifacts can be activated by approaching them while channeling Blue Eco. These include:
Bridge Container Door Launcher Platform
[edit] Locations
Blue Eco is found in almost every location in The Precursor Legacy, with the exception of the Volcanic Crater. Though it most often appears in floating clusters, the Vent Switch in Forbidden Jungle will activate many Vents across the world.
[edit] Jak X
[edit] Uses
In Jak X, Blue Eco is a turbo boost, used to increase the speed of the vehicle.
[edit] Locations
Blue Eco is found on every track or venue, during every event. It appears as a capped cylinder surrounded by a blue glow.
[edit] The Lost Frontier
Blue Eco is primarily used to speed up time, teleport idols that react with Blue Eco, and give Jak a speed advantage in combat.
[edit] Other Uses
- Though it has not been explicitly stated, it is highly likely that the high rate of fire of the Vulcan Barrel in Jak II and Jak 3 derives from Blue Eco.
- It is possible that Haven City, built on the area that used to contain Forbidden Jungle (and therefore the Blue Eco Vent Switch activated by Jak and Daxter in The Precursor Legacy) may be powered partially by Blue Eco; however, all the Eco barrels seen in Jak II and Jak 3 are implied to be of Dark Eco.
