The beam generator is a Precursor artifact in Jak 3. It is one of the five artifacts needed for the astro-viewer in Southern Haven Forest. Any other purpose is unknown, although according to its name, it apparently generates a beam of some sort. Jak gains the beam generator after completing the mission "Defend Spargus' front gate".
